Is Sacrifice Cruel?

Eid-ul-Adha is coming. On this happy occasion, Muslims sacrifice animals in the way of Allah. For this reason, it is also called Eid-ul-Adha.

The way scientific progress is being made in the present age. Some anti-Islamic people try to create problems with Islam. So that people turn away from Islam.

Keep in mind that science can be wrong a million times, but not a single word of the Qur'an, and not a single word from the Holy Prophet's tongue can be wrong.

In the present era, anti-Islamic people have created a problem that the sacrifices that Muslims make are cruel and oppressive. This is destroying the light.

In today's discussion, we will also answer their question. We will also put some of our objections before them.

Man has only one purpose in life and that is stated by Allah in His book Qur'an. Allaah says ŁˆَŁ…َŲ§ Ų®َŁ„َŁ‚ْŲŖُ Ų§Ł„ْŲ¬ِŁ†َّ ŁˆَŲ§Ł„ْŲ„ِŁ†ْŲ³َ Ų„ِŁ„َّŲ§ Ł„ِŁŠَŲ¹ْŲØُŲÆُŁˆŁ†ِ۔ And I have not created the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. (Surat al-Dhaariyat, verse no. 56)

Those who object to this do not understand the reality of the relationship between God and His servant and this taste. Do they know what the relationship between the Creator and the creatures is? When a man can lay down his life at his command, what could be more important?

How can the slaughtering of animals on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha be proof of cruelty when it is not cruelty for Hazrat Ibrahim (as) to stab his beloved son in the neck for the love of Allah?

First of all, God created animals to serve man. Therefore, one can benefit from them in a legitimate way. Moreover, if we do not use animals for our food, other animals will kill them. Or they will kill each other.

Similarly, if we do not use animals for our food, the rest of the world will run out of food. Similarly, the prices of these items will go up.

Moreover, if we do not slaughter animals, these animals will grow in the world in vain. Because of which they will be the cause of trouble for us in the world.

Hadiths of the Prophet regarding mercy on animals

The first hadith:

In the Jahiliyyah, people used to cut the flesh from the body of a living animal and apply for medicine on the cut part. In this way their need was met and the animal was saved. But it was very painful for the animal. Our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade it.

Hazrat Abu Waqid Al-Laithi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: «Ł…َŲ§ Ł‚ُŲ·ِŲ¹َ Ł…ِŁ†َ Ų§Ł„ْŲØَŁ‡ِŁŠŁ…َŲ©ِ ŁˆَŁ‡ِŁŠَ ŲَŁŠَّŲ©ٌ ŁَŁ‡ِŁŠَ Ł…َŁŠْŲŖَŲ©ٌ» It is haraam to cut off the body of an animal while it is still alive. (Sunan Abi Dawood and its chain of transmission is correct. Hadith No. 2858)

The second hadith:

If Islam has allowed the slaughter of animals, then it has instructed that the animals should be slaughtered with a sharp knife. The animal should not be slaughtered with a blunt knife so that it suffers the least.

It is narrated on the authority of Shaddad bin Aws that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: ŁˆَŲ„ِŲ°َŲ§ Ų°َŲØَŲْŲŖُŁ…ْ ŁَŲ£َŲْŲ³ِŁ†ُŁˆŲ§ Ų§Ł„Ų°َّŲØْŲَ، ŁˆَŁ„ْŁŠُŲِŲÆَّ Ų£َŲَŲÆُŁƒُŁ…ْ Ų“َŁْŲ±َŲŖَŁ‡ُ، ŁَŁ„ْŁŠُŲ±ِŲْ Ų°َŲØِŁŠŲَŲŖَŁ‡ُ  ۔ When you slaughter an animal, slaughter it in a good way. And sharpen your knife well and bring relief to your sacrifice. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 1955)

All these hadiths prove that even if Islam allows the slaughter of an animal, it still teaches kindness to it. Let it be known that there is no cruelty in Islam. Rather, Islam preaches mercy. Further from Islamic history we find such incidents which prove that Islam teaches compassion to others.

Some of our objections to atheists:

For those who object that slaughtering animals is cruel, we can ask them:

1-Pilgrims of Mercy! Science says that plants also have life. Then tell me, why do you cut down trees for your own benefit, unnecessarily and for equipment?

2- In the present age, science says that there are about 100 million small insects in an inch of space. You trample these insects under your feet. Tell me! Don't you feel sorry

3Ł€ In the same way, science shows that there are small insects in the water which you kill them while drinking, cooking pots and heating water. Isn't that cruel?

4- When the water of the canals reaches or goes to the fields, it endangers the lives of many fish and aquatic creatures. Now you have a duty to stop people from cultivating because it is a threat to aquatic life. Because you are the bearers of mercy.

5Ł€ Advocates of mercy! You kill mosquitoes and mad dogs for your own benefit and to avoid harm with your own hands or by giving them poisonous medicine. Have mercy on them too because they also have life.

The objection of anti-Islamic people that sacrificing is cruel. With the help of Allah, we have tried to answer it. May Allah keep our thinking right. And choose us to serve your religion. We ask Allah to take from us the task of strengthening His religion. Amen!
