How do women spend Eid-ul-Adha?

Every religion has its own festivals of happiness. In the same way, Islam has made festivals of happiness for us so that Muslims can express their happiness in these days. Allah Almighty has given us two festivals to celebrate. One is Eid-ul-Fitr and the other is Eid-ul-Adha. Both are Muslim religious festivals.

Eid-ul-Adha means "Eid of Sacrifice." On the occasion of this Eid, every Muslim commemorates his grandfather Ibrahim (as). And they sacrifice animals in the sight of Allah.

The purpose of this is that, O Allah, the way we have sacrificed this beautiful animal in Your way. In the same way, we will sacrifice our desires in your way, which we like but you do not like.

Eid-ul-Adha is a religious festival as well as a happy occasion. Therefore, we should observe this festival in accordance with the principles of Islam.

Since Islam gives different instructions to men at different times, it also gives different instructions to women at different times. The Prophet (PBUH) said: Ų„ِŁ†َّŁ…َŲ§ Ų§Ł„Ł†ِّŲ³َŲ§Ų”ُ Ų“َŁ‚َŲ§Ų¦ِŁ‚ُ Ų§Ł„Ų±ِّŲ¬َŲ§Ł„ِ۔ Women are just like men. (Sunan Abi Dawood and its chain of transmission is Hasan. Hadith No. 236)

Where women have separate rules in religious rules, Islam has also made them clear. In general, women are associated with men. In today's article, we will explain how women celebrate Eid-ul-Adha.

Is Sacrifice a Loss of wealth?

Is Sacrifice Cruel?

(1) Bathing for Eid:

Start preparing for Eid by taking a bath. It is mustahabb to take a bath on the occasion of Eid. The Companions and their followers used to take bath on the occasion of Eid. However, this is not a duty.

If Allah has blessed you with wealth, then put on new clothes. If new clothes are not available, at least wear washed clothes.

But make sure that the clothing is such that it covers your body and protects you from the poisonous eyes of others. Never wear clothes that show the ups and downs of your body. And attract others to you.

(2) Going to the open field for Eid:

Whether it is the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid-ul-Adha, the Prophet (PBUH) has instructed us to go to the open field and offer the Eid prayers. The Prophet (PBUH) also included women in this ruling. Rather, it is an emphatic order.

Hazrat Umm Atiyah (may Allah be pleased with her) states Ų£َŁ…َŲ±َŁ†َŲ§ Ų±َŲ³ُŁˆŁ„ُ Ų§Ł„Ł„Ł‡ِ ŲµَŁ„َّŁ‰ Ų§Ł„Ł„Ł‡ُ Ų¹َŁ„َŁŠْŁ‡ِ ŁˆَŲ³َŁ„َّŁ…َ، Ų£َŁ†ْ Ł†ُŲ®ْŲ±ِŲ¬َŁ‡ُŁ†َّ ŁِŁŠ Ų§Ł„ْŁِŲ·ْŲ±ِ ŁˆَŲ§Ł„ْŲ£َŲ¶ْŲَŁ‰، Ų§Ł„ْŲ¹َŁˆَŲ§ŲŖِŁ‚َ، ŁˆَŲ§Ł„ْŲُŁŠَّŲ¶َ، ŁˆَŲ°َŁˆَŲ§ŲŖِ Ų§Ł„ْŲ®ُŲÆُŁˆŲ±ِ، ŁَŲ£َŁ…َّŲ§ Ų§Ł„ْŲُŁŠَّŲ¶ُ ŁَŁŠَŲ¹ْŲŖَŲ²ِŁ„ْŁ†َ Ų§Ł„ŲµَّŁ„َŲ§Ų©َ، ŁˆَŁŠَŲ“ْŁ‡َŲÆْŁ†َ Ų§Ł„ْŲ®َŁŠْŲ±َ، ŁˆَŲÆَŲ¹ْŁˆَŲ©َ Ų§Ł„ْŁ…ُŲ³ْŁ„ِŁ…ِŁŠŁ†َ۔ The Prophet (PBUH) commanded us to take out virgins, menstruating women and veiled women on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

However, menstruating women will stay away from the place of Eid. They (women) should join in the prayers of goodness and Muslims. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 890)

(3) Keep your eyes down when going to the place of Eid:

Women should keep their eyes down when going to the place of Eid. And avoid getting up on non-mahrams in any case.

Allah said: ŁˆَŁ‚ُŁ„ْ Ł„ِŁ„ْŁ…ُŲ¤ْŁ…ِŁ†َŲ§ŲŖِ ŁŠَŲŗْŲ¶ُŲ¶ْŁ†َ Ł…ِŁ†ْ Ų£َŲØْŲµَŲ§Ų±ِŁ‡ِŁ†َّ ŁˆَŁŠَŲْŁَŲøْŁ†َ ŁُŲ±ُŁˆŲ¬َŁ‡ُŁ†َّ ŁˆَŁ„َŲ§ ŁŠُŲØْŲÆِŁŠŁ†َ Ų²ِŁŠŁ†َŲŖَŁ‡ُŁ†َّ Ų„ِŁ„َّŲ§ Ł…َŲ§ ŲøَŁ‡َŲ±َ Ł…ِŁ†ْŁ‡َŲ§ ŁˆَŁ„ْŁŠَŲ¶ْŲ±ِŲØْŁ†َ ŲØِŲ®ُŁ…ُŲ±ِŁ‡ِŁ†َّ Ų¹َŁ„َŁ‰ Ų¬ُŁŠُŁˆŲØِŁ‡ِŁ†َّ۔(O Prophet) Tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. And do not show off your adornment unless it is self-evident. And put your veils on your collars. (Surat al-Noor, Ayat 31)

(4) Walk sideways along the path:

Women should walk on one side of the road when they go out for Eid prayers so that they do not mix with men. Hazrat Abu Usaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he heard from the Prophet (PBUH) while he was walking out of the mosque.

So the men were walking in the middle of the road with the women. The Prophet (PBUH) said to the women: «Ų§Ų³ْŲŖَŲ£ْŲ®ِŲ±ْŁ†َ، ŁَŲ„ِŁ†َّŁ‡ُ Ł„َŁŠْŲ³َ Ł„َŁƒُŁ†َّ Ų£َŁ†ْ ŲŖَŲْŁ‚ُŁ‚ْŁ†َ Ų§Ł„Ų·َّŲ±ِŁŠŁ‚َ Ų¹َŁ„َŁŠْŁƒُŁ†َّ ŲØِŲَŲ§ŁَّŲ§ŲŖِ Ų§Ł„Ų·َّŲ±ِŁŠŁ‚ِ» Stay behind It is not right for you to walk in the middle of the road. Rather, walk on the side of the road. (Sunan Abi Dawood and its chain of transmission is Hasan. Hadith No. 5272)

(5) What kind of perfume do women use?

Women should not use soaps, make-up, cosmetics, or perfumes that spread the scent. Because of the women who do such things, Allah's Messenger (PBUH) has spoken harshly about such women.

Abu Musa narrates from the Prophet (PBUH) said: ŁˆَŲ§Ł„Ł…َŲ±ْŲ£َŲ©ُ Ų„ِŲ°َŲ§ Ų§Ų³ْŲŖَŲ¹ْŲ·َŲ±َŲŖْ ŁَŁ…َŲ±َّŲŖْ ŲØِŲ§Ł„Ł…َŲ¬ْŁ„ِŲ³ِ ŁَŁ‡ِŁŠَ ŁƒَŲ°َŲ§ ŁˆَŁƒَŲ°َŲ§۔ When a woman passes by a party with a scent, she is like that (ie, she is a bad person). (Sunan al-Tirmidhi and its chain of transmission is Hasan.)

Similarly, women should not go out wearing jewelry, shoes, or clothes that have a sound. Allah said: ŁˆَŁ„َŲ§ ŁŠَŲ¶ْŲ±ِŲØْŁ†َ ŲØِŲ£َŲ±ْŲ¬ُŁ„ِŁ‡ِŁ†َّ Ł„ِŁŠُŲ¹ْŁ„َŁ…َ Ł…َŲ§ ŁŠُŲ®ْŁِŁŠŁ†َ Ł…ِŁ†ْ Ų²ِŁŠŁ†َŲŖِŁ‡ِŁ†َّ۔ And (women) should not strike their feet on the ground so that their ornaments which they conceal may be revealed to them (Surat al-Noor, verse no. 31).

(6) Meeting women at the place of Eid:

After the Eid prayers, when the women meet each other, congratulate each other with these words ŲŖَŁ‚َŲØَّŁ„َ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡ُ Ł…ِŁ†َّŲ§ ŁˆَŁ…ِŁ†ْŚ©ُŁ†َّ.

Hazrat Jubair bin Nufair (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that: ŁƒَŲ§Ł†َ Ų£َŲµْŲَŲ§ŲØُ Ų±َŲ³ُŁˆŁ„ِ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡ِ ŲµَŁ„َّŁ‰ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡ُ Ų¹َŁ„َŁŠْŁ‡ِ ŁˆَŲ³َŁ„َّŁ…َ Ų„ِŲ°َŲ§ Ų§Ł„ْŲŖَŁ‚َŁˆْŲ§ ŁŠَŁˆْŁ…َ Ų§Ł„ْŲ¹ِŁŠŲÆِ ŁŠَŁ‚ُŁˆŁ„ُ ŲØَŲ¹ْŲ¶ُŁ‡ُŁ…ْ Ł„ِŲØَŲ¹ْŲ¶ٍ ŲŖَŁ‚َŲØَّŁ„َ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡ُ Ł…ِŁ†َّŲ§ ŁˆَŁ…ِŁ†ْŁƒَ۔ When the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) used to meet each other on the day of Eid, they used to say to each other: " ŲŖَŁ‚َŲØَّŁ„َ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡ُ Ł…ِŁ†َّŲ§ ŁˆَŁ…ِŁ†ْŁƒَ"(Fath-ul-Bari and its chain of transmission is Hassan)

(7) Changing the way back from the place of Eid:

Just as it is good for men to change their route when they return home after the Eid prayers. In the same way, it is for women to change their way back. Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) states: «ŁƒَŲ§Ł†َ Ų§Ł„Ł†َّŲØِŁŠُّ ŲµَŁ„َّŁ‰ Ų§Ł„Ł„Ł‡ُ Ų¹َŁ„َŁŠْŁ‡ِ ŁˆَŲ³َŁ„َّŁ…َ Ų„ِŲ°َŲ§ ŁƒَŲ§Ł†َ ŁŠَŁˆْŁ…ُ Ų¹ِŁŠŲÆٍ Ų®َŲ§Ł„َŁَ Ų§Ł„Ų·َّŲ±ِŁŠŁ‚َ» On the day of Eid, the Prophet used to change his route. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 986)

The wisdom in changing course is to be able to meet as many people as possible. The more people a person meets, the happier he will feel. After the Eid prayers, women should return home as soon as possible. So that they can help their families in the sacrificial process.

In the light of the Qur'an and Hadith, we have clarified how women should spend Eid-ul-Adha. May Allah help us to live our whole life according to religion. And take from us the task of strengthening your religion. Amen!
