Plague (Coronavirus) Definition, Causes, and Methods of Prevention

Coronavirus is one of the most dangerous epidemics in modern times. Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has described many signs of the Day of Resurrection. One of these signs is that on the Day of Resurrection, there will be epidemics among the people who will not be present in the first people. Our Prophet (PBUH) used the word plague in connection with these plagues.
What is the meaning of the plague? What kind of epidemics does it have? What are the causes of these epidemics? And what is the way to prevent these epidemics? In today's article we will tell you a few things:

Definition of plague:

The plague is an epidemic that spreads. It is aggressive in many ways. It causes untold deaths. It seems that every epidemic that becomes common and causes many deaths is called the plague. Some doctors say that there is a special epidemic that manifests itself in the form of abscesses in soft flesh.
Keep in mind that not every common disease will be called the plague. Diabetes, for example, is a disease that affects people all over the world. It is a disease and not an epidemic.
That is why some doctors differentiate between plague and disease. Every plague is a disease but not every disease is a plague. Plague is an epidemic that spreads in a matter of days and causes a lot of deaths.
As is clear from the above, plague is a disease that spreads in a matter of days and causes untimely death. This makes us understand that the coronavirus is also a type of plague. Because this disease has spread all over the world and millions of people have died due to this disease.

Causes of epidemics:

We must first keep in mind that all kinds of epidemics come from God. No disease or epidemic comes without the command of Allah and does not go without the command of Allah. Allah sends these plagues whenever He wills and takes them back whenever He wills.
Although epidemics come from God, their causes are found in human society. When sins become common in any society, especially immorality, adultery, and pornography become common, such epidemics are sent to such societies. And the purpose of sending these plagues is to warn Allah’s servent of their limits.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Ł„َŁ…ْ ŲŖَŲøْŁ‡َŲ±ِ Ų§Ł„ْŁَŲ§ŲِŲ“َŲ©ُ ŁِŁŠ Ł‚َŁˆْŁ…ٍ Ł‚َŲ·ُّ، ŲَŲŖَّŁ‰ ŁŠُŲ¹ْŁ„ِŁ†ُŁˆŲ§ ŲØِŁ‡َŲ§، Ų„ِŁ„َّŲ§ ŁَŲ“َŲ§ ŁِŁŠŁ‡ِŁ…ُ Ų§Ł„Ų·َّŲ§Ų¹ُŁˆŁ†ُ، ŁˆَŲ§Ł„ْŲ£َŁˆْŲ¬َŲ§Ų¹ُ Ų§Ł„َّŲŖِŁŠ Ł„َŁ…ْ ŲŖَŁƒُŁ†ْ Ł…َŲ¶َŲŖْ ŁِŁŠ Ų£َŲ³ْŁ„َŲ§ŁِŁ‡ِŁ…ُ Ų§Ł„َّŲ°ِŁŠŁ†َ Ł…َŲ¶َŁˆْŲ§۔ When obscenity is openly spread in a nation, epidemics and diseases spread among them that people who passed away would not even have heard of them. (Sunan Ibn Majah and its chain of transmission is Hasan. Hadith No. 4019)
This is the most important cause of any epidemic. If a nation refrains from evil deeds like obscenity and adultery, then Allah takes such nations under His protection.

Accurate epidemic prevention methods:

It is important to choose the right methods to prevent and treat any spiritual, physical or epidemic. Protection from any disease and epidemic is possible only when we adopt the right medical treatment and the right Islamic method instead of imaginary tips. We briefly explain it below:

(1) Elimination of the causes of epidemics:

In order to prevent any kind of epidemic and disease, it is necessary to first eliminate the causes of this disease. The causes that gave rise to this disease. It is necessary to clear before purification. Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to eliminate the causes due to which Allah sends plagues on any nation.
The most common of these causes are obscenity, adultery, polytheism and immorality. If we want to eradicate this plague of the present day, we have to eradicate these evils from our society.

(2) Turning to Allah:

Repentance to God, repentance from sins, and humility to God are essential even under normal circumstances. But when such dangerous epidemics spread, their importance increases. That is why we must ask God to forgive our sins. Pray to Allah to eradicate the fear that has spread in the society.
How is it possible to get rid of these epidemics? This has been explained by Allah Himself in the Holy Quran. Allah said: ŁَŁ„ْŁŠَŲ¹ْŲØُŲÆُŁˆŲ§ Ų±َŲØَّ Ł‡َŲ°َŲ§ Ų§Ł„ْŲØَŁŠْŲŖِ۔ Ų§Ł„َّŲ°ِŁŠ Ų£َŲ·ْŲ¹َŁ…َŁ‡ُŁ…ْ Ł…ِŁ†ْ Ų¬ُŁˆŲ¹ٍ ŁˆَŲ¢Ł…َŁ†َŁ‡ُŁ…ْ Ł…ِŁ†ْ Ų®َŁˆْŁٍ۔ They should worship the Lord of this House (Kaaba) who fed them in hunger and gave them peace in fear. (Surat al-Quraysh, verse 04-03

(3) Morning and evening dhikr:

The best solution for a believer to get rid of various epidemics and afflictions is morning and evening dhikr. Morning and evening dhikrs are a strong fortress for a believer.

(4) correct treatment:

The Qur'an and the hadiths command us to choose other ways to prevent diseases. They also encourage us to choose the right treatment to get rid of the epidemic and disease. We must adopt whatever treatment the pathologists and physicians discover.
Hazrat Usama bin Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a few villagers came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: Shall we stop treating (diseases)? He )PBUH) said: «ŲŖَŲÆَŲ§ŁˆَŁˆْŲ§ ŁَŲ„ِŁ†َّ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡َ Ų¹َŲ²َّ ŁˆَŲ¬َŁ„َّ Ł„َŁ…ْ ŁŠَŲ¶َŲ¹ْ ŲÆَŲ§Ų”ً Ų„ِŁ„َّŲ§ ŁˆَŲ¶َŲ¹َ Ł„َŁ‡ُ ŲÆَŁˆَŲ§Ų”ً، ŲŗَŁŠْŲ±َ ŲÆَŲ§Ų”ٍ ŁˆَŲ§ŲِŲÆٍ Ų§Ł„ْŁ‡َŲ±َŁ…ُ» Take medicine, because Allah has prescribed medicine for every disease except the disease of old age. (Sunan Abi Dawood and its chain of transmission is correct. Hadith No. 3855)
In the above discussion, we have explained the definition, causes, and prevention of plague with the help of Allah. May Allah help us to understand the religion and give us the strength to act accordingly. Ameen!
