Virtues of Hajj in the light of Qur'an and authentic hadiths
The virtues of Hajj in the light of the
Qur'an and authentic hadiths is an important question of the present age.
Because the most important worship of Muslims after Ramadan is Hajj. Hajj is
the fifth pillar of Islam.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with
him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: ŲØُŁِŁَ Ų§ŁŲ„ِŲ³ْŁŲ§َŁ

Witnessing that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of
Allah, establishing prayers, paying Zakat, performing Hajj, and fasting Ramadan.
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith Number: 08)
Although Hajj is a fictitious act of worship, it is
not obligatory on every Muslim. Hajj is obligatory only on a Muslim who can
afford it. And other conditions set by Islam. Allah said: ŁَŁِŁَّŁِ

the pilgrimage to the House of Allah is obligatory for those who can afford it
(Surat al-Imran, verse No.97).

Hajj
has an important place in Islam. In this discussion, we will explain to you the
virtues of Hajj in the light of the Qur'an and authentic hadiths.
(1) Achieving Paradise:
One of the virtues of Hajj is
that Hajj makes it easy for a person to attain Paradise. Other acts of worship
also, make it possible for a person to attain Paradise But Hajj is such an act of worship
that Allah has rewarded it with nothing but Paradise.
Hazrat Abu
Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah
(may peace be upon him) said: «Ų§ŁŲ¹ُŁ
ْŲ±َŲ©ُ Ų„ِŁَŁ Ų§ŁŲ¹ُŁ
ْŲ±َŲ©ِ ŁَŁَّŲ§Ų±َŲ©ٌ ŁِŁ
َŲ§ ŲØَŁْŁَŁُŁ
َŲ§، ŁَŲ§ŁŲَŲ¬ُّ Ų§ŁŁ
َŲØْŲ±ُŁŲ±ُ ŁَŁْŲ³َ ŁَŁُ Ų¬َŲ²َŲ§Ų”ٌ Ų„ِŁَّŲ§ Ų§ŁŲ¬َŁَّŲ©ُ» One Umrah becomes the expiation for the sins of
another Umrah. And the reward of Hajj-e-Mabroor is nothing but Paradise. (Sahih
Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 1773)
Hajj-e-Mabroor
is a Hajj in which no one disobeys Allah. And if he performs all his Hajj
according to the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), then Allaah has rewarded him
with Paradise.
(2) Complete salvation from sins:
Hazrat Abu
Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: «Ł
َŁْ ŲَŲ¬َّ ŁِŁَّŁِ ŁَŁَŁ
ْ ŁَŲ±ْŁُŲ«ْ، ŁَŁَŁ
ْ ŁَŁْŲ³ُŁْ، Ų±َŲ¬َŲ¹َ
ŁَŁَŁْŁ
ِ ŁَŁَŲÆَŲŖْŁُ Ų£ُŁ
ُّŁُ» One who
performed Hajj for the sake of Allah. There was no disobedience in it and no
disobedience. He will return from (his Hajj) as if his mother had given birth
to him today. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 1521)
Prayers, fasting, zakat and other acts of worship are also
performed through them, although Allah forgives the sins of His servants
But whoever performs Hajj, Allah
purifies him from sins in the same way as he was born today. In other words,
just as a child who has just been born does not have any sin in his record of
deeds. In the same way, Allah cleanses a person who performs Hajj from sins.
(3) Special guests of Allah:
The most important of the virtues of
Hajj is that a person who goes for Hajj or Umrah is a special guest of
Allah. And can anyone compete with the honor and status of a person who is a
special guest of Allah?
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar
(may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings
of Allah be upon him) said: «Ų§ŁْŲŗَŲ§Ų²ِŁ ŁِŁ Ų³َŲØِŁŁِ Ų§ŁŁَّŁِ، ŁَŲ§ŁْŲَŲ§Ų¬ُّ ŁَŲ§ŁْŁ
ُŲ¹ْŲŖَŁ
ِŲ±ُ، ŁَŁْŲÆُ
Ų§ŁŁَّŁِ، ŲÆَŲ¹َŲ§ŁُŁ
ْ، ŁَŲ£َŲ¬َŲ§ŲØُŁŁُ، ŁَŲ³َŲ£َŁُŁŁُ، ŁَŲ£َŲ¹ْŲ·َŲ§ŁُŁ
ْ» Ghazi, Ghazi, performer of Hajj and Umrah are the delegations of Allah.
(Allah) invited them and they accepted. (Now) whatever they asked from Allah,
Allah granted them. (Sunan Ibn Majah Wasinda Hassan, Hadith No. 2893)
A group of distinguished
people of any country who go to different countries and meet the princes there
is called a delegation. The people in the delegation are highly respected. And
they are special guests of the king of the country they are visiting.
In this hadith, our
beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has described those who perform
Hajj and Umrah as a delegation of Allah. When the delegations of the world are
so honored, how glorious will be the delegation of Allah!
