Muhammad's attitude towards daughters

Muhammad's attitude towards daughters is an important aspect of the Prophet's biography. The system of this universe is made up of two commodities and they are male and female. The existence of the world is possible only through the existence of these two. These two are inseparable from each other.
It is a different matter that Allah has given man superiority over women. But this does not mean that a woman has no dignity, no place, no right to live. Rather, it is completely wrong.
In Arab society, people used to oppress women. They considered the daughter a disgrace to themselves. And as soon as she was born, she was buried alive. And even in today's society, people treat women very badly. Although these so-called Muslim women are not buried alive, their lives are ruined by words and taunts.
Remember! The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has honored a woman in every way. If she is a child, she becomes the splendor of the house. When he becomes young, he becomes the honor of his parents, if he becomes a wife, he becomes the queen of the house, and if he becomes a mother, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Heaven is under her feet.
Where there are many forms of woman, a beautiful form of a woman comes before us in the form of "daughter". In Arab society, when a daughter was born in someone's home, that person would get upset.
Allah has said: ŁˆَŲ„ِŲ°َŲ§ ŲØُŲ“ِّŲ±َ Ų£َŲَŲÆُŁ‡ُŁ…ْ ŲØِŲ§Ł„Ų£Ł†ْŲ«َŁ‰ ŲøَŁ„َّ ŁˆَŲ¬ْŁ‡ُŁ‡ُ Ł…ُŲ³ْŁˆَŲÆًّŲ§ ŁˆَŁ‡ُŁˆَ ŁƒَŲøِŁŠŁ…ٌ When one of them is given the glad tidings of a female (ie daughter), his face turns black and he is filled with rage (Surat an-Nahl, verse no. 57)" ŁƒَŲøِŁŠŁ…ٌ " refers to a person who could not even speak due to intense grief and anger. And then these people either buried the daughter alive in the ground or kept her as a hardship and humiliation.
In In our current society, some women are divorced simply because they have to give birth to daughters and not sons. Remember! This is cruel and infidel thinking. Muhammad's attitude towards daughters was very excellent. He has commanded the daughters to be treated well in different ways. The following are some of the sayings of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) regarding treating daughters well:

Daughters to be saved from Hell:

Before the advent of the Prophet, daughters were treated very badly by the Arabs. But he adopted different methods to change the attitude of the people so that the rights of this vulnerable gender would not be violated.
In the following hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) gave glad tidings to one who treats his daughters well. Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: «Ł…َŁ†ِ Ų§ŲØْŲŖُŁ„ِŁŠَ Ł…ِŁ†َ Ų§Ł„ْŲØَŁ†َŲ§ŲŖِ ŲØِŲ“َŁŠْŲ”ٍ، ŁَŲ£َŲْŲ³َŁ†َ Ų„ِŁ„َŁŠْŁ‡ِŁ†َّ ŁƒُŁ†َّ Ł„َŁ‡ُ Ų³ِŲŖْŲ±ًŲ§ Ł…ِŁ†َ Ų§Ł„Ł†َّŲ§Ų±ِ» Whoever is tempted by the daughters of those who have treated them well, then these (daughters) will be a veil of fire for him. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2629)
In this hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) called daughters tempted because people in society often consider them to be a source of hardship.

Daughters are the cause of heaven's obligation:

In today's society, people consider their daughter a burden. But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) declared his daughter to be the cause of Paradise. And always encouraged to treat it well.
Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A poor woman came. She was carrying her two daughters. I gave her three dates. So, she gave two dates to each of her daughters. And he put a date in her mouth to eat. But her two daughters asked her for it. He cut it in half and gave it to her two daughters.
(Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) says) I found this matter very strange. I mentioned this matter to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and He(PBUH) said: «Ų„ِŁ†َّ Ų§Ł„Ł„Ł‡َ Ł‚َŲÆْ Ų£َŁˆْŲ¬َŲØَ Ł„َŁ‡َŲ§ ŲØِŁ‡َŲ§ Ų§Ł„ْŲ¬َŁ†َّŲ©َ، Ų£َŁˆْ Ų£َŲ¹ْŲŖَŁ‚َŁ‡َŲ§ ŲØِŁ‡َŲ§ Ł…ِŁ†َ Ų§Ł„Ł†َّŲ§Ų±ِ» Allah has made Paradise obligatory for her (the woman) or has said that Allah has freed her from the fire because of this act. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2630)

Raising daughters are the cause of the companionship of the Prophet:

Whoever raises his daughters and trains them well, then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah is upon him) has given him the glad tidings of his companionship. See the hadeeth.
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: «Ł…َŁ†ْ Ų¹َŲ§Ł„َ Ų¬َŲ§Ų±ِŁŠَŲŖَŁŠْŁ†ِ ŲَŲŖَّŁ‰ ŲŖَŲØْŁ„ُŲŗَŲ§، Ų¬َŲ§Ų”َ ŁŠَŁˆْŁ…َ Ų§Ł„ْŁ‚ِŁŠَŲ§Ł…َŲ©ِ Ų£َŁ†َŲ§ ŁˆَŁ‡ُŁˆَ» ŁˆَŲ¶َŁ…َّ Ų£َŲµَŲ§ŲØِŲ¹َŁ‡ُ۔ The one who raised two daughters until they reached puberty will come on the Day of Resurrection, then he and I will be together, and he joined his fingers (Meaning on the Day of Resurrection and they will be together like these two fingers)
Muhammad's attitude towards daughters was very excellent. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) loved his daughters very much. He has set an example of good behavior and love for his daughters, who are as follows:

Expressing happiness over the arrival of the daughter:

When the daughter of the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to the house of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to rejoice at her arrival.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She walked like the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
(Seeing her coming) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: «Ł…َŲ±ْŲَŲØًŲ§ ŲØِŲ§ŲØْŁ†َŲŖِŁŠ» Ų«ُŁ…َّ Ų£َŲ¬ْŁ„َŲ³َŁ‡َŲ§ Ų¹َŁ†ْ ŁŠَŁ…ِŁŠŁ†ِŁ‡ِ،Ų£َŁˆْ Ų¹َŁ†ْ Ų“ِŁ…َŲ§Ł„ِŁ‡ِ۔ Welcome to my daughter. Then he made her sit on his right or left side. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 3623)
This incident shows us that Muhammad's attitude towards daughters was very wonderful.

Example of intense love for daughter:

In today's society, people do not love their daughter. And they ridicule it. But the Holy Prophet has taught us intense love for daughters. As it is clear from the following hadith.
Hazrat Misvar ibn Mukhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: «Ų„ِŁ†َّŁ…َŲ§ŁَŲ§Ų·ِŁ…َŲ©ُ ŲØَŲ¶ْŲ¹َŲ©ٌ Ł…ِŁ†ِّŁŠ ŁŠُŲ¤ْŲ°ِŁŠŁ†ِŁŠ Ł…َŲ§Ų¢Ų°َŲ§Ł‡َŲ§» Of course, Fatima (RA) is a part of my body that hurt her as if he hurt me. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2449)
It is narrated on the authority of Misvar ibn Mukhramah that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Ų„ِŁ† ŁَŲ§Ų·ِŁ…َŲ© ŲØŲ¶Ų¹َŲ© Ł…Ł†ŁŠ Ł…Ł† Ų£ŲŗŲ¶ŲØŁ‡Ų§ Ų£َŲŗْŲ¶َŲØَŁ†ِŁŠ۔ Indeed, Fatima is a part of my a body that made her angry, he made me angry (Virtues of the Companions Hadith No. 266).

Going to daughter's house:

Muhammad's attitude towards daughters was very wonderful. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) loved his daughters very much. That is why he used to go to his daughter's house often. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 2613)
To instruct the daughter in the best path of piety:
The Prophet had no interest in the world. On the contrary, he always tried to accumulate the wealth of the Hereafter. And he used to teach his daughter the same thing in different ways.
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) came to the house of Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) but did not enter.
When Ali (RA) came and told her(Fatimah) about this. Hazrat Ali (RA) mentioned this incident to Him(PBUH).He(PBUH) said: «Ų„ِŁ†ِّŁŠ Ų±َŲ£َŁŠْŲŖُ Ų¹َŁ„َŁ‰ ŲØَŲ§ŲØِŁ‡َŲ§ Ų³ِŲŖْŲ±ًŲ§ Ł…َŁˆْŲ“ِŁŠًّŲ§»،ŁَŁ‚َŲ§Ł„َ: «Ł…َŲ§ Ł„ِŁŠ ŁˆَŁ„ِŁ„ŲÆُّŁ†ْŁŠَŲ§» I saw a carved curtain on his door and he said, "What is the purpose of this world for me?"
Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) asked, "What should be done with it? So He(PBUH) said, "Send him to the house of such a needy person." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 2613)

Praying for daughters:

He loves man so much that he prays for his well-being. In the same way he loved his daughters. That is why he used to pray for his daughters. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2424)

Express grief over daughter's death:

The three daughters of the Prophet passed away during his lifetime. The daughter of the Prophet was Umm Kulsoom(RA), who was the wife of Usman bin Affan(RA).
When she passed away, Anas narrated the state of the grief of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) Ų“َŁ‡ِŲÆْŁ†َŲ§ ŲØِŁ†ْŲŖَ Ų±َŲ³ُŁˆŁ„ِ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡ِ ŲµَŁ„َّŁ‰ Ų§Ł„Ł„Ł‡ُ Ų¹َŁ„َŁŠْŁ‡ِ ŁˆَŲ³َŁ„َّŁ…َ ŁˆَŲ±َŲ³ُŁˆŁ„ُ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡ِ ŲµَŁ„َّŁ‰ Ų§Ł„Ł„Ł‡ُ Ų¹َŁ„َŁŠْŁ‡ِ ŁˆَŲ³َŁ„َّŁ…َ Ų¬َŲ§Ł„ِŲ³ٌ Ų¹َŁ„َŁ‰ Ų§Ł„Ł‚َŲØْŲ±ِ، ŁَŲ±َŲ£َŁŠْŲŖُ Ų¹َŁŠْŁ†َŁŠْŁ‡ِ ŲŖَŲÆْŁ…َŲ¹َŲ§Ł†ِ۔We were at the funeral of the Prophet's daughter and the Prophet was sitting at his daughter's grave. And because of (intense grief) you were shedding tears (Sahih Al-Bukhari, H: 1342)

Best behavior from son-in-law:

Because because of a daughter, anyone becomes a son-in-law. So the Prophet used to treat his sons-in-law well because of his daughters.
Once Fatima (RA) and Ali (RA) became a little upset and Ali (RA) went to sleep in the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) found out about this resentment. He immediately said to a man, "Look, where is Ali?" He said, "He is sleeping in the mosque."
When He(PBUH) went to the mosque, He saw that Ali was sleeping. And his cloak had fallen from his body and he was feeling dust. He started shaking the dust from Ali and said at the same time: «Ł‚ُŁ…ْ Ų£َŲØَŲ§ŲŖُŲ±َŲ§ŲØٍ، Ł‚ُŁ…ْ Ų£َŲØَŲ§ ŲŖُŲ±َŲ§ŲØٍ» O Abu Turab! Arise, O Abu Turab! Get up (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 6280) "Mud" is called "ŲŖُŲ±َŲ§ŲØ" in Arabic.
Good manners with the son-in-law encourage the daughters. This also tells us that Muhammad's attitude towards daughters was very wonderful۔

Best behavior from grandchildren:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also loved the children of his daughters. Syeda Zainab, the eldest daughter of the Prophet, had a daughter named umamah. He(PBUH) loved her very much. He did not like to separate them even during prayers.
Hazrat Abu Qatada Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates ŁƒَŲ§Ł†َ ŁŠُŲµَŁ„ِّŁŠ ŁˆَŁ‡ُŁˆَ ŲَŲ§Ł…ِŁ„ٌ Ų£ُŁ…َŲ§Ł…َŲ©َ ŲØِŁ†ْŲŖَ Ų²َŁŠْŁ†َŲØَ ŲØِŁ†ْŲŖِ Ų±َŲ³ُŁˆŁ„ِ Ų§Ł„Ł„َّŁ‡ِ ŲµَŁ„َّŁ‰ Ų§Ł„Ł„Ł‡ُ Ų¹َŁ„َŁŠْŁ‡ِ ŁˆَŲ³َŁ„َّŁ…َ۔ He(PBUH) used to offer prayers and during the prayers, he was carrying umamh bint Zainab (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 516) This also tells us that Muhammad's attitude towards daughters was very wonderful۔
The Prophet (PBUH) through his words and deeds has instructed us to treat our daughters well in every possible way.
That is why we also need to eradicate this scourge of society. And treat our daughters with kindness every moment, considering them as divine mercy. So that our world and the Hereafter may be better. May Allah give us the Strength to Act. Ameen!
