The precautionary measures are taken by Islam to protect us from the coronavirus

Coronavirus is a dangerous epidemic that is spreading in the present era. While there are other reasons for its spread, one of the biggest and main reason is that we have angered our God.

Allah loves His servants very much. When His servants turn away from Him and try to transgress His limits, Allah afflicts them with small calamities۔ So that His servants may remember Him and return to Him. Allah says وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمْ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْأَدْنَى دُونَ الْعَذَابِ الْأَكْبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ And most surely We will make them taste the lesser torment before the greater torment, so that they may return to Me. (Surah Sajdah, Verse No. 21)

Islam is a complete code of life. It gives us complete guidance in every sphere of life. Islam has a few guidelines before use to prevent coronavirus. By following these guidelines we can avoid this dangerous epidemic.

Ø  Pray to Allah to save you from trouble before it comes:

Allah is the Creator and Owner of this universe. All authority is in His hands. Therefore we should pray to Allah to protect us from calamities and misery. And such dhikr should be arranged through which we come under the protection of Allah.

Hazrat Usman bin Affan (RA) said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: One who recites this prayer three times at the beginning of the day and at the beginning of the night. Nothing will harm him that day or night. And that is the prayer. بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلا فِي السَّمَاءِ، وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ Starting with the name of Allah (whose name is blessed) nothing in the heavens and the earth can harm us. And He is the Hearer, the Knower.)Musnad-e-Ahmad and the chain of its transmission is Hasan. Hadith No. 474)

Ø  Reading the prayer by looking at the person suffering:

 Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) says: A person who suddenly meets a troubled person (seeing that troubled person) recites this prayer. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي مِمَّا ابْتَلَاكَ بِهِ، وَفَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِيلًا All praise is due to Allah, Who has healed me from the (trouble) in which He has afflicted you. And has given me superiority over His many creatures. This person is healed of this affliction forever.

While we take other precautions to avoid the coronavirus, we should read this prayer by looking at the person suffering from the disease. Although we only see this patient on television. When we do this with conviction, God will protect us from the coronavirus forever.

Ø  Arranging prayers before leaving home:

 Where we take other precautions to avoid the coronavirus, we should recite this prayer when leaving homeِبِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ. in the name of Allah (I am going out of the house) I have put my trust in Him and only with the help of Allah do I have the courage to avoid sin and do good ” Because Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) states that Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: For the person who recites this prayer, it is announced that: you have been guided and you have been saved (from every calamity and disease). (Sunan Abi Dawood and his chain of transmission is correct, Hadith No. 5095)

Ø  Staying away from places of plague:

       Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (RA) said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: لاَ يُورِدَنَّ مُمْرِضٌ عَلَى مُصِحٍّ Do not bring a sick person to a healthy person۔(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 5729) Similarly, Hazrat Abd-ul-Rahman ibn' Awf (RA) narrated that I heard the Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) say: «إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِهِ بِأَرْضٍ فَلاَ تَقْدَمُوا عَلَيْهِ، وَإِذَا وَقَعَ بِأَرْضٍ وَأَنْتُمْ بِهَا فَلاَ تَخْرُجُوا فِرَارًا مِنْهُ» When you hear about an epidemic in an area, do not go to that area, and if there is an epidemic in your residential area, do not go out of that area to avoid it. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No:5729)

Ø  Covering the vessels:

 Islam not only teaches us spirituality but Islam is the absolute guarantor of our health. Therefore, Islam has taught us ways to maintain health and avoid diseases by following them. Where our good deeds increase, our health will also be maintained. 

One of these methods is to cover our utensils. Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) narrated that: the Prophet (PBUH) said: غَطُّوا الْإِنَاءَ، وَأَوْكُوا السِّقَاءَ، فَإِنَّ فِي السَّنَةِ لَيْلَةً يَنْزِلُ فِيهَا وَبَاءٌ، لَا يَمُرُّ بِإِنَاءٍ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ غِطَاءٌ، أَوْ سِقَاءٍ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ وِكَاءٌ، إِلَّا نَزَلَ فِيهِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوَبَاءِ Cover the utensils and cover the mouths of the muskets. Because there is a night in the year when there is an epidemic in it, so the epidemic enters the vessel which is not covered or the jar is not tied. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2014) We do not know about this night.

Summary:

We should pray to Allah often.  In the same way, we should try to keep our utensils covered. And we should come to Allah while avoiding sins. In addition, we should try not to go to the epidemic area. So that we can avoid dangerous diseases like coronavirus.

These are the methods that the Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) has told us, about which Imam Ibn Qayyim (RA) says that this is one of the pearls of wisdom to which the sciences and arts of doctors cannot reach. (Zad-ul-Maad) Coronavirus is a punishment from God for human sins. We pray to God to protect us and all Muslims from this dangerous disease as soon as possible and where we can avoid this disease. Let us take other measures while we also take these Islamic measures. Ameen.
