The Importance of Laylat al-Qadr Virtue and its Signs this is an important question regarding the holy month of Ramadan۔Laylat al-Qadr has an important place in Ramadan. It is a mercy of Allah Almighty that He has provided such opportunities to His servants in which they can earn many times more than their deeds by doing fewer deeds and get forgiveness for their sins.

What is Laylat al-Qadr?

Laylat al-Qadr means the Night of Destiny. On this night, Allah Almighty writes down the destiny of His servants for the coming year and makes all the decisions for the coming year. One of the reasons for saying Laylat al-Qadr may be that this night has a great place and status.

Why does Laylat al-Qadr take precedence over other nights?

Laylat al-Qadr is superior to all other nights because Allah has revealed the Qur'an in this night. Allah said: إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ. We have sent down the Qur'an on Laylat al-Qadr. And Allah has called this night a blessed night. Allah has said: إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ. We have sent down this Qur'an on a blessed night. (Surat al-Dukhan, verse no. 03)

One of the blessings of this night is that the worship of this night is better than a thousand years of worship. Allah said: لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ The worship of Laylat al-Qadr is better than 1000 years. (Surat al-Qadr, verse no. 03) That is, the worship of this one night is better than the worship of 83 years and 04 months. In the present age, this one night worship is equivalent to the whole life of a human being. This is a great mercy of Allah, the Lord of Glory. We should try to achieve it.
 In the same way, this night is superior to other nights because the angels of God Almighty descend on this night. Allah: تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ (On this night) angels and spirits (ie Gabriel (peace be upon him)) descend (on the earth) with the permission of their Lord. (Surat al-Qadr, verse no. 04) Similarly, Allah has called this night a night of peace.

Which night is Laylat al-Qadr?

Laylat al-Qadr is a night of greatness, but according to the correct view, the night has not been determined which night is Laylat al-Qadr. Hazrat Ibadah ibn Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to tell about Laylat al-Qadr (ie its appointment) but two Muslim men were arguing with each other, He said: إِنِّي خَرَجْتُ لاخبرکم لیلۃ القدر،وانہ تلاحیٰ فلان وفلان،فرفعت وعسیٰ ان یکون خیرالکم ،التمسوھا فی السبع والتسع والخمسI came to tell you about Laylat al-Qadr, but due to the quarrel of these two men (knowledge of the appointment of this night was taken away from me) it is possible that it may be better for you, seek this (night) on the 27th, 29th and 25th nights. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 49)

 This hadith makes it clear to us that this night is not final. However, our Prophet Muhammad has commanded us to look for it in the odd nights of the last decade. تَحَرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ القَدْرِ فِي الوِتْرِ، مِنَ العَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ Find Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 2017)

What should be done on the night of Laylat al-Qadr?

It is a very good deed to stay up on the night of Laylat al-Qadr, that is, to offer prayers. Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: مَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَةَ القَدْرِ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِWhoever prays (supererogatory) prayers on the night of Laylat al-Qadr with the intention of faith and reward, Allah will forgive his sins for the rest of his life. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 1901)

The wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) Umm al-Mu'minin said: If I observe Laylat al-Qadr, what should I recite that night? He said: Then recite this prayer اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عُفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي O Allah, You are the Forgiver and You love forgiveness. Forgive me too. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi and the chain of its transmission is correct, Hadith no. 3513) We should also recite this prayer so that we may be able to attain Allah's forgiveness and attain His Paradise.

Signs of Laylat al-Qadr:

When there is no appointment for this night, how do we know that it is Laylat al-Qadr? This is another important question. The answer is that although there is no appointment for Laylat al-Qadr, Here are some of the signs that indicate that such and such night is Laylat al-Qadr.

(1) On the morning of Laylat al-Qadr, when the sun rises, it does not radiate:

Hazrat Ubai bin Ka'b (RA) said that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: صبيحة ليلة القدر تطلع الشمس لا شعاع لها On the morning of Laylat al-Qadr, when the sun rises, it does not have a ray. (Sahih Al-Jami, Hadith No. 3754) That is, its rays are not spreading at sunrise.

(2) On the night of Laylat al-Qadr, the temperature is mild and the night is calm:

Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH) said: ليلة القدر ليلة سمحة طلقة لا حارة ولا باردة تصبح الشمس صبيحتها ضعيفة حمراء The night of Laylat al-Qadr is calm, neither too cold nor too hot, and when the sun rises in the morning, it is red and weak. (Sahih Al-Jami ', Hadith No. 5475)

(3) No annoyance is thrown on this night:

Our Prophet(PBUH) said: ولا يرمى فيها بنجم No stars are thrown that night. (Sahih Al-Jami 'which is compiled by Allama Al-Bani, Hadith No. 5472)
Summary: The Qur'an has been revealed on Laylat al-Qadr and the worship of this night is better than the worship of a thousand months. That is why this night has an important place. It takes place in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. A sign of this is that the night is very calm۔

Respected Readers! Laylat al-Qadr is an important night that has been deprived of this night, it has been deprived of goodness. We should do our best to achieve this night.

 But the people around us do not care about it. On other nights of Ramadan as well as on this night, they are preferring to watch movies, dramas, and talk nonsense. So wherever we come for worship, we have to encourage them to worship as well. Maybe Allah will guide them because of us and they will be the recipients of our forgiveness. May Allah help us to act.
